CAO Amazon Basin Toro Cigar - Single

A very limited release by CAO due to the scarcity of the Amazon grown Bragança leaf that's incorporated into the blend. Organically grown in little clearings in the Amazon rain forest, the yield is less than half that of a traditional plant. To further add to its scarcity the land is left fallow for two years after each crop. 

Fermentation is achieved by rolling the leaves into compact tubes, known as carottes, and leaving them to mature for 6 months. Transportation of the fermented leaf is by canoe downriver, which is slow and adds to its cost.

This highly sought after Ltd. Edition begins with a Sumatra wrapper grown in Ecuador, The binder and filler leaves are a combination from Nicaragua and The Dominican Republic.

The paper band is replaced by a thin rope made from tobacco and wound round the cigar several times.  The result is a fantastic unique looking cigar thats rustic in appearance.

The Bragança leaf certainly adds something to this 6" x 52 Toro, amongst the recognisable notes of wood, leather and cedar you can detect a hint of ginger and spice with coffee and the "what is that" taste of the Amazonian influence. There is a beautiful sweetness about this cigar, everything is balanced perfectly, the strength grows towards the end but its not overpowering.

This is one smoking experience it would be a shame to miss out on.
